THE IONIAN ISLANDS EX ALTIS

Corfu, Zante, Lefkada, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Paxoi, Diapontia and the islets Antipaxoi, Nydri, Meganisi, Atokos and the other small islands of the Ionian sea are the topic of this album. In Giannis Giannelos’ photos, the Ionian Islands are captured as they have never been seen before, even by their inhabitants. In the texts, besides the historical evidence, tribute is paid to the local trophy-bearers of Greek letters: Dionysios Solomos, Andreas Kalvos, Andreas Laskaratos, Aristotelis Valaoritis, Lorentzos Mavilis, Aggelos Sikelianos, Nikos Kavvadias and others, with a small anthology dedicated to the Ionian and its inhabitants.
